Reflections Maybe in a few years I'll look back at this and reflect. |

Bottoms Up After thinking about it I chose to install the engine in the car and deal with the dipstick tube later. First up was to install the correct speedometer pinion. This is the second time I have installed an engine from the bottom. A couple axle straps were put through the core support and connected to the hoist. Once the car was high enough the engine assembly was pushed in place. I needed to walk the rotor over the engine as I went. I then started to lower the car. The first obstacle was the brake valves and the exhaust manifold, next was the power steering hoses. Once I got past those it was home sailing. With the car on the frame I kept just enough tension on the hoist to allow me to line up the bolts. From there the car was lifted back up and put on jack stands. The transmission was then lifted to get the trans mount bolted in. After that the lower ball joints were put back together and shocks into the body. That all done the torsion bars put in and adjusted. Wheels on and back on the dollies. | ![]() |
