 Final Find
 4-speed Commando

I have long wanted to do the Silver State Classic. This is a race across
90 miles of Nevada desert at speeds 90 mph plus. So I need a car, and being an A-Body person a 2-Door Valiant seamed like the perfect car, just need to find one.
Well the first car showed up on eBay and for only $250, figured that all I need is a shell. After towing a trailer 800 miles to Oregon to get the car we find a rusted out hulk, yes it ran but it was bad. Do to a glitch in the system I was able to bail on the deal. We unloaded the car (yes we had already loaded it up) and got the hell out of Dodge. The trip wasn't a failure because I had other business in Oregon.
The next car was located in Oceanside, CA the day after we got back from Oregon, it was only 4 hours away this time. This car was perfect, nothing wrong with it but no engine... and it was sold!
The next one is actually three. I haven't made contact on these yet but the seller says they have no rust, even said one is a 4-speed car. It's an all or nothing sale so I'll need to strip down two and scrap the shell or maybe sell them complete. Oh, they are only 5 miles from the 2nd one.
I still haven't made contact on the shells in Oceanside but did run across one in Paramount this time a 68. This one slipped by do to bad timing, no cash at the time.
Doing a Google search I ran across a 69 up in Washington but this one was long gone. After this one there was quite some time before another one showed its face that was both the right price and area.
Yet another ebay car, 170 automatic in very good shape, almost too good, yup out bid. What is it about the Sacramento area? This reminds me of the one that was on ebay a little while back; 67 2-door, Commando 273, 4-speed, yes a Commando 273 4-speed Valiant, they made like 50 of them, maybe 30 of them were a 2-door sedan.
Well after a few posting about my hunt one on Craigslist was brought to my attention. This one is a 67 in very nice shape, 170 3-speed so no clutch conversion needed. A deal has been made and I'll be picking it up soon.
I didn't include some of the ones that I saw that were not close or just wanted too much for it.
The final 67 was aquired and is now home.
